28th PIRT Annual Meeting - 1st - 3rd December- Join us in person or online!

Dear PacNEL members,

The PIRT Annual Meeting will take place in Suva from Monday 1st Dec. to Wedn. 3rd Dec. Apologies for the short notice.  Please register to be sent the link to join online, and see the Agenda attached.

This is an important meeting which will discuss the new PIRT Framework 2026 - 2030, replacing the Pacific Islands Framework for Nature Conservation and Protected Areas 2021-2025 . Significant changes are considered and it would be great to have your inputs as they have policy and legal implications for the region. The new Framework will be endorsed by PIRT Conference, held approx. every 5 years, which will be held in New Caledonia in October 2026. The team preparing the conference will present at the General Meeting.

I hope you can join us in Suva or online at least for some of the time.

If you have any issue joining online, please email Claire Oire at claireo@sprep.org and cc me patriciaaparkinson@gmail.com

The Pacific BioScapes Programme is a European Union (EU) funded action, managed and implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP).
The Programme contributes to the sustainable development of Pacific Small Island Developing States through the implementation of 30 focused activities taking place across a diversity of ecosystems in 11 countries (Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu) that will address critical issues concerning coastal and marine biodiversity, and ecosystem-based responses to climate change adaptation.
