Conservation from a cultural standpoint: What does it look like?

Four short presentation will showcase Indigenous and cultural approaches to protected-area management, whale conservation, traditional navigating and community guardianship. A facilitated discussion will explore how conservation can shift from a narrow focus on biodiversity towards recognising and protecting biocultural diversity. Participants will consider how conservation initiatives should be redesigned and who must be included conservation planning, governance and decision-making.
